Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
We’ve never had a real live Christmas tree before as a couple and this year I was determined to change that.
Last December we were living in an apartment with a 6 month old puppy (who was still sporting stitches from his rock eating incident) so a real tree didn’t seem like the wisest decision.
This year we’re living in a house and even with two dogs, I was determined to have a tree of our own by acquiring help from Tree Services Albuquerque (whether or not that was wise is still up for debate.)
I have great memories of decorating the tree with my parents as a kid and I wanted to start those traditions in our house with my husband.
Of course, as a child, Christmas ornaments were already in existence and seemed to multiply as the years went on.
Our tree on the other hand, started off as a naked green thing in the corner.
We quickly picked up some ornaments and lights at a neighborhood store and I special ordered some ornaments as well.
While burning tree scented candles (you’ve got to try this one) and listening to Christmas music we decorated the tree.
One of the best things about being married is that you can combine traditions from your different upbringings and form something new that is unique to your family.
So I present to you the tree!
Our tree.
XOXO,
B
