When one of my fabulous friendors (wedding vendor who is a friend, for those of you who are curious) Andrea let me know that Southern Weddings had selected one of our images as one of the best photos of 2013 I was overjoyed!
It’s always a lot of fun to see the wedding blogs do their year end round of up their favorite bouquets, dresses, details, etc.
However, this list was of their ten favorite photographs. Period. Of the whole year.
I was beyond flattered!
I love photos of details of the wedding day and I would have been excited if they’d chosen one of my bouquet shots or ring shots to feature in a post.
However, the fact that they chose a photo of a moment instead of a detail just makes my heart so happy.
You can see our lovely bride Anne illuminated by a single beam of sunshine as she walks down the aisle to greet her groom in her childhood church.
I remember the exact moment I took the picture because I was so struck by how perfectly the light hit her.
It literally made me gasp.
Images like this one are what makes being a wedding photographer such a privilege for me.
At the end of your wedding day, you have a fantastic spouse, a soul filled with amazing memories, and your photos.
Thank you to all of our clients for trusting us and allowing us the honor of capturing this incredible time in your lives.
Also, thank you to sweet ladies of Southern Weddings for making me feel very proud and humbled to receive this honor!

P.S. Want to know something fun about this particular photo? When I took it, I was 8 months pregnant and perched on the top of a 6 foot ladder. Which, if you’re curious, looks a little something like this.
Yay! What a stunning image. So happy to share!!
