My life is filled with love…and that is awesome

I’ve been blessed with a wonderful family and an amazing husband who love me very much.  I’m also very fortunate to have a job that allows me to be a witness to the love in other families and between other husbands and wives.  I usually share the stories of others with you, but today I thought I’d change it up a little bit and share something personal with you.

Last Friday my husband and I got word that we had passed the bar exam, and this morning we were sworn in as members of the Georgia Bar.  As soon as we told our parents that we passed the bar, they rearranged their entire schedules to travel from Florida up to Georgia so that they could  be a part of our big day.  We’ve enjoyed the time that we got to spend with them, and want them to know how thankful we are for all they’ve given us over the years that allowed us to get to this point in our lives.

Although I can now practice law in Georgia, I plan on following where my heart has led me…to photography!  I made the leap to doing photography full time, and I plan to stick with it as long as people like you will let me 🙂

After we’d been sworn in and the family enjoyed a celebratory brunch, Matthew told me that he had a meeting to go to in Marietta.  I didn’t question it, but when he came home from the meeting he had a big brown bag with him.  Being a lover of all things fattening, I assumed that he brought me food.  There was not food in the bag.  It was a gift for me.

He sat down on the couch with my parents and I and said “A long time ago we went to an antiques store together and we looked at the old cameras.  I told you that when I was a lawyer and you were a professional photographer I would get you one.  That day is today.  This is your camera.”

I melted.  It was one of the sweetest things he’s ever done for me.  Even though our lives may not be perfect every day, we have found the perfect match in each other.  That’s all a person could ever ask for, and I’m so lucky to have found it.
