There are a few things you should know about Martha and Erich’s wedding before getting any further into this post:
1) Martha is crafty and creative and the details were SPECTACULAR.
2) There was an ADORABLE bunch of children there.
3) This post contains a TON of pictures.
The wedding took place at Smith Gilbert Gardens, an undiscovered gem in Kennesaw that you may remember from a previous post. Martha’s parents are both accomplished gardeners and volunteer at the gardens, which is how Martha found out about the venue.
Martha and Erich are one of those rare couples who are 100% themselves at all times, no matter who is there. Their love for each other and their boundless excitement for life remains unchanged whether they are alone or surrounded by hundreds of people. In fact, in her brother’s toast, he thanked Eric for “being able to deal with her silly.”
That’s who they are. They love each other so much, and are so happy about it, it’s just ridiculous at times. But oh, is it wonderful. I love seeing couples with the same breezy outlook on life, because I know they will continue to bring each other joy for the rest of their lives.
The entire day was filled with unique and meaningful touches from the bonsai centerpieces grown by the brides father to the wedding pictures from three generations on the sign in table.
Martha walked down a pinwheel lined aisle and married her groom under the shade of a giant tree. During the ceremony the guests joined the couple in singing Amazing Grace, which I thought was simply beautiful.
Many thanks to Daria from Circle of Love Weddings for ensuring that everything went smoothly and Endive for the delicious food.
Congratulations Martha and Erich!! I hope you two are having a wonderfully relaxing time in Jamaica.
XOXO,
B
This necklace has been worn by all of the women in Martha’s mother’s family on their wedding day for the past three generations.
Martha’s sister gave her this journal as a wedding gift and I thought it was cute that Martha immediately wrote this in it.
Martha had two wedding bands. One was to match with her engagement ring and the other had her fingerprint on it, to match the fingerprint on the inside of Erich’s ring.
Martha was fortunate and had a family member who was great with flowers and made all of the florals for the wedding.
By this time, you should know how much I adore when couples choose to do a first look!
I dare you to find a cuter flower girl.
Instead of having a tiered cake, guests were treated to a dessert buffet consisting of nine different types of cakes to sample. Yum!
Beautiful work! I love the ring shots and the little bridesmaid is great.
Great images! I love the b/w of the ceremony.
Beautiful detail shots. I love the one of the wooden pencils (?) and the Georgia Peach cake.
sooo many great expressions captured here. My absolute favorite has got to be the image of the bride and her mother (?) looking in the mirror at the necklace that’s been handed down for years. What perfectly joyous expressions on their faces!
Wonderful wedding!! All the details are amazing!! And I love the picture of the bridesmaid!!
The ring shots and all the details are lovely. Great job capturing those special moments (love the reception shots as well!) Well done!
Wow – super duper details. I’m getting hungry just looking at them. Nice job.
What a lovely wedding. I love all the personal details
You were right about the fantastic details! Love the pinwheels, her shoes, purple suspenders, twig pencils, vibrant bouquet and the joy and lightheartedness you captured of the couple’s perfect day. Warm and fuzzy!
You guys… these are amazing. Thank you SO much for your hard work, and these gorgeous shots, and your sweet words. Our wedding was exactly what we wanted, and I couldn’t be more pleased with your part in it. 🙂
