The week leading up to Sam and Bobby’s wedding had been an interesting one.
It was the week of what I refer to as the Snowpocalyse where Atlanta got 5 inches of snow, the unprepared roads iced over and the city was pretty much shut down for four days.
Luckily it got progressively warmer and by the sixth day most of the ice was gone and everyone could drive safely again.
When I arrived at Sam’s hotel suite all of the girls were in the midst of getting ready.
After the mimosas had been poured, it was Sam’s turn to have her makeup done. A bunch of bridesmaids arranged themselves on the bed to watch and I couldn’t help but smile as they all talked excitedly about what was in store for the day.
Sam was very peaceful, smiling as she told me about the honeymoon that Bobby had planned at a wonderful all inclusive resort.
After she was dressed and ready to go she became a bit nervous, which was unusual for her. I reassured her that everything was going to be fine, that the day would go perfectly.
The nerves didn’t stick around for long, because a few minutes later we were in the elevator and heading downstairs for the first look.
I’m so happy that more and more of my couples are choosing to see each other for the first time before the ceremony. It makes for such a special moment and it helps bring your focus back to what is most important about the day: marrying the person you love.
It’s easy to stress about guests running late or bouquets showing up in the wrong color, but when you see your fiance and just relax before the ceremony all those worries disappear.
Within seconds of seeing Bobby and kissing him, Sam was back to her normal bubbly self.
After portraits on the hotel’s snowy golf course it was time to ride the trolley to the church for the ceremony.
Sam had two flower girls and a ring bearer and they were all amazingly cute.
Little ones at a wedding always make me smile, and these sweethearts were no exception.
Not only did they perform their duties flawlessly, but they tore up the dance floor at the reception!
Speaking of the party, it was just fantastic.
Bobby plays in a band for fun, and a few other guests were musically talented as well.
Sam’s sister’s fiance (did you get that one?) actually joined the band for a few songs and did a great job playing guitar and singing.
After the band had finished for the evening Bobby and his friends took over the microphone for a very passionate rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing.”
It was such a great time and you could tell that all the guests really enjoyed themselves. I know we sure did!
Congratulations you two! Enjoy your Bahamian paradise.
XOXO,
B
Wonderful images B! I am sure the couple will be thrilled with their beautiful images you captured!
The photos were great. They almost made you feel like you were there. Also you had a great looking couple to photo.
That first ring shot is really cool, and I love the super high contrast B/W of the second ring shot. Hooray ring shots. Great job!
