A rainy day wasn’t able to dampen Laura’s spirits as she married John at the Houston Mill House this past weekend. After ten years of friendship and many years of dating, the pair were more than ready to become husband and wife. Their wedding day was even more special because John’s daughter Lea was there acting as his “best man” and they were officially becoming a family.
Laura was escorted down the aisle by her dad and her stepfather in a sweet showing of the significance of her relationship with the both of them. The couple exchanged personalized vows in a cozy ceremony officiated by Reverend Rick in front of the fireplace inside the house and it was lovely!
After the ceremony we ventured outside for some pictures during a brief break in the rain. The house and the grounds are so pretty, and I was thrilled to be able to do some portraits outside despite the weather. Laura and John were troopers and Matthew was such a big help, shielding the couple with a huge golf umbrella every time the wind blew some “tree rain” our way.
After a delicious dinner, guests headed downstairs for some dancing to the music provided by DJ Ralphie from Black Tie Events. Before the dancing began, Laura and John’s family and friends toasted the couple with some of the sweetest words I’ve ever heard at a wedding. Her stepdad had her planner and I both in tears with his heartfelt words of congratulations and advice for a happy marriage.
Best wishes to you both!! I hope that you’re enjoying your fabulous honeymoon in Hawaii!!
The details on Laura’s Casablanca gown were just fantastic.
