Matthew and I met Nelson when we were all studying abroad in Granada, Spain (and where Matthew and I started dating!!). While we were there, Jenny came over to visit and we all had a blast together. All four of us grew up in South Florida, went to FSU for undergrad, had mutual friends and yet we didn’t all meet until we left the country! We enjoyed several days of vino tinto and tapas together in Spain, and I was so excited when they asked me to be their wedding photographer!
When the wedding day finally arrived, South Florida was having a week of record breaking heat. I know you’re thinking that South Florida is always hot, but this was serious 90+ temperatures with a heat index in the triple digits. In October.
There was a good amount of time between when the ceremony ended and the reception began, but I was worried that Jenny and Nelson wouldn’t want to be out in the heat taking pictures. I was wrong, and I’m so glad! The reception was held at the Ancient Spanish Monastery which I think is one of the most gorgeous and unique venues I’ve ever seen. It’s the kind of old world gem that you would only find in South Florida, and it was a wonderful setting for a wedding.
The whole day was amazing, and Matthew and I were so happy to have been a part of it. Congratulations Jenny and Nelson! We hope you enjoyed your mini-moon and we can’t wait to visit with you when we head back to South Florida again!
Matthew got this one of Nelson while he was getting ready.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE birdcage veils. Seriously I adore them. They photograph beautifully, and they are so stylish and awesome.
Even Matthew commented “that head thing is pretty cool.”
Jenny’s beautiful Alice Padrul dress. It was perfect for her!
In the car on the way to get married!!
Watching his bride walk down the aisle.
Jenny and her family did so much to make the reception personalized and special. The signs were just an example of what they did.
Matthew got this shot of the Monastery. How gorgeous is this place??
Matthew is AWESOME at doing groomsmen shots, and the entire bridal party was so much fun and down for anything. I love this one. So much fun!
I don’t remember who came up with the idea to do a “West Side Story” inspired picture (it might have been Nelson), but I think it’s hilarious!
The dance floor was THE place to be. Everyone had such a great time!
