Here is part two of Sharan + Jude’s wonderful destination wedding at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Jamaica. If you missed part one, you can catch up over here!
After kicking off the wedding celebration with a Nigerian ceremony, the pair were wed in a traditional Sikh ceremony.
After the wedding ceremony, there is another ceremony called the Doli, that commemorates the bride leaving her home to join her husband’s family.
According to tradition, before getting to leave with his bride, Jude must bargain with the bridesmaids and bride’s family to convince them he’s worthy of her.
After a lot of playful teasing, and a few performances from Jude, he was finally allowed to leave with his wife.
Everyone had smiles on their face the entire time!
The fantastic combination of cultures came into play after the Doli, where the bride and groom were greeted by the groom’s family in traditional Nigerian style.
It was so lovely to see the farewell of one culture immediately followed by a joyous welcome of another.
The guests loved it and so did we! Part three is coming your way soon, so stay tuned!
XOXO,
B
