Even before I started volunteering with Atlanta Doberman Rescue, I would keep up with the dogs they had available for adoption on their website. It was during this time that I saw Cinnamon, a very special girl with a very sad story.
Whatever monster Cinnamon had once belonged to had smashed her in the face with a machete, leaving a mangled mess of her snout, and left her for dead in the streets.
Luckily for her, someone reported her to Animal Control and they came to pick her up. Her injuries were so extensive that the first vet she encountered suggested that she be put down.
However, one of the employees at Animal Control knew that she deserved a chance to live and reached out to the community for help. Through the kindness of Atlanta Doberman Rescue and Special Needs Doberman Cinnamon was able to receive the top notch care she needed to put her on the path to recovery.
Today Cinnamon is alive and doing marvelously!
She has been adopted and renamed Tasha. Tasha lives with her parents and her brother Diego in Roswell where she has a big yard to run and play in.
I got to visit Tasha in her new home and take some pictures to celebrate how well she is doing.
She is such a sweet dog, and aside from a faint scar running down her face, you can’t tell that anything bad ever happened to her.
She greets visitors excitedly by wagging her nubby tail (which her mom and dad lovingly refer to as her “handle”) and giving lots of kisses.
