Georgian Terrace Wedding | Kate + Erik

When you’ve known someone for years before they even meet their fiancé, it’s that much sweeter to see them find the perfect person for them to marry.

Such is the case with Kate (who still went by Katie when I met her back in college!) and Erik.  Even when they’re apart, they’re always thinking about each other.

On their wedding day they decided to wait and see each other for the first time when Kate walked down the aisle with her dad.

While she was getting ready, Kate was all smiles and couldn’t stop talking about how excited she was for the moment she’d get to finally lay eyes on her groom.

It’s so weird, we’re always together and then today…I haven’t seen him yet.  Oh my gosh, I can’t wait to see him!

One of the best things about working with Matthew is that he always photographs the guys getting ready while I’m with the girls.

The guys all got ready at Erik + Kate’s condo in Midtown, where they were accompanied by Jackson, the couple’s golden retriever.

I told Matthew how much Kate missed being around Erik, so he texted me a picture he’d taken of Jackson to show her.

Kate was thrilled to see her sweet furry boy, and seeing him was the next best thing to seeing Erik!

After Kate and all of the bridesmaids were done getting ready, we all rode a trolley to the church to prepare for the ceremony.

The ceremony was lovely, and I was able to sneak up to the front of the church to get a few shots of Kate walking down the aisle with her dad, and Erik’s face when he saw her for the first time.

After the pair were officially wed, we headed over to The Georgian Terrace Hotel for the party to begin!

The Georgian Terrace is a strikingly beautiful building, and the ballroom for the reception was gorgeous.

Jade Lee of Lovelee Affairs did all of the flowers and decor for the wedding and the result was truly stunning.

The reception also showcased a fantastic cake from Sweet Sensations that featured petals modeled after the flowing fabric of Kate’s dress.

The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches from family and friends, wonderful food, and great music from The Flavor band.

Katie + Erik, thank you so much for having us!  It was our pleasure to celebrate the love that you’ve found in each other and photograph all the awesome moments of the day.
