This is the story of a girl from Florida and a boy from Georgia (luckily, she was smart enough to go to FSU, so there’s no rivalry here!)
Christine and Brett met at work, and a while after becoming friends they started dating.
Then one night Brett drove Christine over to her friend Kim’s place for what was supposed to be an ordinary evening with friends. Once in the building, he led her to a quiet room off of the lobby where he presented her with a book he’d made for her.
It was filled with sweet words about their relationship and how Brett had prayed for a woman like her since he was a child.
On the last page of the book there was a picture of a diamond ring and the question that takes every girl’s breath away:
Will you marry me?
Christine excitedly said yes and when she went up to share the news with her friend, she discovered that her family and Brett’s family were all waiting there to celebrate!
If that sweet story didn’t convince you of Brett’s love for Christine, then this fact surely will:
Brett is a huge UGA fan and he and Christine got married the day of the Florida/Georgia game.
Not only did they get married on the day of the Florida/Georgia game (after getting the best insurance for wedding), but when they were planning the wedding there was a choice of two days, and he CHOSE that day (the other day was 9/11.)
For those of you not familiar with college football and the significance of this game, you can read all about it here.
Christine and Brett got married at Chateau Elan, a gorgeous winery about an hour outside of Atlanta. The week of their wedding it poured for four straight days. Then miraculously, two days before the wedding, the sun came out and dried up all the nasty sogginess and continued to shine brightly throughout the weekend.
Getting married in autumn makes for lovely fall colors in the trees, but also for shorter days. Before the wedding Christine and I had discussed the small amount of daylight that would be left before the portraits and I promised her that we would make the most of it.
I think you’ll agree with me that the portraits we got of the two of them in that golden light right before sunset are just wonderful. Just looking at them makes my heart happy!
Christine and Brett, thank you so much for having us there on your wedding day and being so fantastic in front of the camera!! We loved every minute of it.
XOXO,
B
